Learn how it works
Everything about filming your shot, what our AI looks for, and how to get the most out of every analysis.

Step 1
Film your shot the right way
- Film from the front — stand under or just behind the basket, facing the shooter.
- Straight head-on is fine, and so is a little off to one side — as long as you stay in front. If you angle it, go toward the guide-hand side: that shows whether the shooting arm makes a proper L or opens into a wide V.
- Frame the whole body, head to feet — cropped at the waist loses stance, knee bend and foot position.
- But not from across the gym — that far away, the elbow and hands are too small to read.
- Just the shot — a few seconds is all it needs. One shot per video, MP4 or MOV.
- Want arc and rotation graded too? Film a second clip from the side, with the ball's whole flight and the rim in frame.

The fundamentals of
a great shot
Every shot you upload is scored against these criteria. Tap any one to watch a video that breaks it down.
Guide Hand Placement
Guide hand sits on the side, never on top.
Palm Non-Contact with Ball
Ball on the fingertips, not the palm.
Elbow L-Shape — Under the Ball
Forearm forms a clean 90° under the ball.
Shot Pocket — Elbow
Ball loaded, elbow set, ready to rise.
Square to the Basket
Hips, shoulders, and feet aimed at the rim.
Knees Bent
Knees flexed to load the legs.
Shooting Through Guide Hand / One Hand Release
One-hand release — guide hand drops away.
Two Finger Release
Ball rolls off the index and middle fingers.
Forward Motion and Toes
Weight forward, toes pointing at the rim.
Shooting Hand Follow Through
Wrist snaps; goose-neck holds at the top.
Guide Hand Follow Through
Guide hand peels away — never pushes.
Shot Arc
Aim for a high 45–60° arc.
Connected Shot
Legs, core, and release in one motion.
Step 3
Read your report, then re-test
Your report shows a score and coaching notes for every criterion. Pick one or two things to work on, put in the reps, then analyze again — your history tracks how each part of your form improves over time.
Tokens & teams
Each analysis uses one token. Buy them one at a time, get them included with the training ball, or join a team — coaches and organizations can send tokens straight to their players and track the whole roster from the team dashboard.
